It is very important to change the oil filter, so that it can fulfill its function of preventing the impurities that are generated by combustion from circulating. An overly dirty filter will allow debris to pass into engine parts, contributing to wear. we explain how to change the oil filter.
Steps to follow:
1. The first thing we have to know is the periodicity of the change: the manual of our vehicle will indicate them. In any case, as a general rule, those manufactured after the year 2000 should have the filter changed every 15,000 or 30,000 kilometers; while the older ones will require it every 7,000 or 15,000.
2. Buy a suitable wrench for the oil filter. If we do not know exactly which one our car requires, we will have to opt for the more generic one.
3. We locate the filter, using the manual of our vehicle, and then, with the wrench, we begin to unscrew the nut that holds it.
4. Once extracted, we place the new filter with a gloved hand, to which we will have previously placed a little oil.
