Despite the large number of cosmetics and aesthetic treatments that exist to nourish and hydrate both skin and hair, there are people who prefer not to use these products due to their high cost or their high content of chemical and artificial products, and prefer to use recipes of simple cosmetics to make at home and to be able to use much more natural ingredients and whose price is not so high. If this is the practice that you usually carry out and you are looking for a home remedy so that your hair grows faster and healthier, here we explain how to grow hair with mint.

Properties of peppermint to grow hair

Mint is an aromatic herb present in the Mediterranean area and in Central Asia and is widely used in products related to aesthetics and cosmetics thanks to its infinity of beneficial properties for the skin and hair. In fact, its characteristics make it the perfect ingredient for hair care and to promote its growth in a healthy way.

For hair to grow fast and well-nourished it is necessary that our scalp is well irrigated so that all the necessary nutrients reach the follicles through the blood. As mint has properties that activate blood circulation, applying it in this area of our body causes it to increase blood flow throughout the scalp, favoring the growth of a strong, flexible and beautiful mane.

Another fundamental factor for your hair to grow fast and healthy is that there is no type of fungus, parasite or bacteria present in it. Peppermint has antiseptic properties that will help keep these organisms away from your mane. And indeed, it is also effective against lice, both for treatment and prevention, in addition to calming the itch they produce.

Other benefits that mint also has for your hair is the reduction of the appearance of dandruff, since it reduces the flaking of the scalp. In addition, if you have excess oil in your hair, it will also help you with the regulation of sebum production.

You can incorporate peppermint into your hair care routinely, and thus use peppermint for hair growth, in two ways that we explain below.

Infusion of mint leaves to grow hair

One of the ways to use mint to help your hair grow quickly and healthily is to infuse mint leaves to apply to the scalp 3 times a week. Write down these ingredients and simple steps to prepare this peppermint remedy for hair growth:

Ingredients

  • 10 mint leaves.
  • 1 large cup of water.

Preparation and treatment

  • Pour the water into a saucepan and heat it over the fire.
  • When it starts to get hot, add the mint leaves and let the water boil for five minutes.
  • Then turn off the heat and let it rest for a while, so that the infusion remains with all the properties of the mint and so that it cools down for application.
  • When it is ready, strain the infusion so that no remaining leaves remain inside it.
  • Then put it on your scalp, distributing it well and massaging with the tips of your fingers to facilitate its absorption.
  • Hold the massage for 5-10 minutes and wait another 10 minutes to rinse your hair.

Peppermint oil to grow hair

Another way to use peppermint to speed up the growth of your mane is to use peppermint oil. It is very important that you remember that peppermint oil is very strong and you should always use it diluted. You can do it in two ways.

Choose a less strong oil, like coconut oil or avocado oil. This way you will only have to add 3 drops of peppermint oil to another oil. You can use it by applying it to the scalp and ends twice a week after applying your daily shampoo. Don’t forget to rinse with lukewarm water.

The other way is to add 10 drops of peppermint oil to your usual shampoo. This way you will incorporate the properties of mint to this product. But remember to use it at most every other day, never daily.
